I am revamping this blog in order to be able to to chronicle the progress that I am making in getting a massive pile of 1/285 Modern figures painted and organised into armies for the great Cold War Commander rules.
I already have several armies started or half done and I will post details as they are completed or added to. I am using an organisational level where a base of infantry or a vehicle represents a platoon, thus allowing the use of Modern Spearhead TO&Es as a basis for the armies.
Armies started or planned (and intended theatre of operation):
American Heavy Brigade Combat Team (Europe)
Ukrainian Independent Mech Inf Brigade (Europe)
USMC Expeditionary Brigade (Middle East/Desert)
Syrian Armoured Brigade (Middle East/Desert)
Iranian Armoured Brigade (Middle East/Desert)
UK Armoured Brigade (not sure - not started)
Vietnam forces for both sides.
Some of these are nearing completion and I will post details sooner rather than later. Will also post tutorials when I make some terrain pieces too.
Gonna be a busy boy!!
